Biophilia – Human–Nature Bond
This series explores the connections between humans and the natural world. Each photograph captures moments of flow, growth, hope and resilience, celebrating the ways we are intertwined with nature and with one another. Drawing inspiration from diverse cultures, languages and philosophies, the series invites reflection on community, compassion and the shared energy that sustains life. From the sacred springs of our ancestors to the skies we reach toward, Biophilia is a visual journey of unity, light and the enduring bond between humanity and the earth.

Orophile – A person who loves mountains

Fiat lux – Latin for let there be light

Te Here – Captures a moment of profound connection, embracing the life and energy of the natural world

Te Puna – Māori for spring of water, a sacred place where our tūpuna (ancestors) would come to cleanse, heal and sustain their spirits

Ahimsa – Sanskrit for nonviolence and respect for life

Fiori – Bloom where you are

Whakakotahitanga – Māori for coming together

Amal (أمل) – Hope

Deison & Mbali – Mbali means “flower” in some Bantu languages; a symbol of growth, resilience, and connection to nature
